Specializing in classical yoga, it teams timeless techniques with a state-of-the-art studio that’s flooded with natural light beaming in through its floor-to-ceiling windows. Zen Yoga

Zen Yoga, Dubai’s original yoga and Pilates studio, had over 40,000 visits last year, which says it all. Teaching a wide range of yoga classes – from Hatha to Vinyasa, Ashtanga to Power yoga – that are suitable for all levels, it also offers pre- and post-natal classes, classes just for kids, and mummy-and-baby sessions. Zen Yoga also hosts regular health and wellness workshops with some of the best teachers in town, making it the perfect place to kickstart a healthier way of living.

Urban Yoga

This cool yoga hangout is one of the hottest spots in which to chant “om…”. The bright and spacious studio feels like it’s straight out of New York, featuring an intimate loft space for smaller sessions and workshops, and a beautiful warehouse room with huge windows that provide a perfect view of the Downtown area, Jumeirah, and the shimmering sea as you practice. Try the candlelit classes for the perfect way to end your day or watch the sunrise over the city with the morning sessions – whatever class you prefer, Urban Yoga has it all.

The perfect place to – literally – hang out, the Mind classes at Define offer a whole new perspective to yoga and, well, your morning view. That’s because you’ll spend most of your time hanging upside down in a yoga sling. Incorporating mat yoga poses along with Aerial yoga and moves with the muscle ball, it’s the ultimate class to stretch, lengthen those muscles, and complement your fitness routine.

Home to all things hot yoga, DRYP (literally) turns up the heat on classic yoga practice. Every sweaty session takes place in a heated room that uses the latest infrared heat technology to gently warm up your body, which helps with improved flexibility, detoxifying effects, and improved heart health.

All the usual suspects are on offer, from Bikram to Vinyasa, but they also throw in some more unusual classes like ‘Hot Yoga Sculpt’, which uses free weights and cardio bursts to sculpt from top to toe. Whether you’re a total beginner or downward dog all day long, the huge availability of classes, times, and packages make DRYP the perfect pick.

Bay Yoga

Although Bay Yoga offers an array of classes and yoga styles, the thing it does best is Bikram. The 90-minute sweaty sessions take place in a heated room (the temperature is a rather steamy 40°C) where humidity can reach up to 40 percent – let’s just say there’s no point of investing in a blow-dry before this class. With up to 26 different postures, your entire body will be pushed to the limits as you hold each one in the heat. You’ll definitely leave this one feeling a lot sweatier and a lot more supple.

At GoYoga, yoga sessions take place inside a large, light-filled space that not only boasts some seriously impressive views, but also a seriously impressive class schedule. From Bikram to Vinyasa, Yin to Ashtanga – no matter which class you book in to, you know that you and your body are in the most expert of hands, thanks to the passionate and professional instructors. It also hosts free classes, events, and workshops, including the Bikram Yoga Posture Clinic which teaches the correct alignments and postures so you can really perfect your practice.

Life'n One

This hippie hotspot in the heart of Jumeirah practically oozes “om…”. Focusing on the spiritual side of well-being, Life’n One is all about yoga – lots of yoga – ranging from classic Hatha and dynamic Vinyasa to Tantra and Kundalini. There is also reiki, holistic life coaching, and chakra-reading sessions to complement your practices, which take place in an array of locations including the garden deck, rooftop, or studios. Then, to (rather deliciously) top it all off, there’s the One Café, a place filled with vegan, raw delights such as veggie burgers, turmeric smoothies, and pecan and cinnamon cookies.

Yoga La Vie

Selecting only the best of the best when it comes to its instructors, Yoga La Vie’s chic and cozy studio on The Palm incorporates an array of wellness-focused fitness sessions to help you look and feel your best. But barre and Pilates aside, the yoga classes are second to none, with both beginner and advanced options on the schedule and everything on offer from Hatha to Restorative, Yin to Vinyasa. A particular favorite is the Aerial yoga class, where girl-about-town Tala Samman is often spotted hanging from the ceiling.

Nilaya House

Once you step foot inside the calming blue and white space that is Nilaya House, you’ll never want to leave. Especially if you want a serious dose of Zen and one of the most comprehensive yoga class schedules in town.

Whether you want to join a class, take part in a workshop, embark on a teaching course, book a weekend retreat, or unwind with a restorative meditation session, Nilaya has you covered. There’s everything from ashtanga and Hatha to yin, kundalini, Iyengar, and restorative yoga, with women-only sessions too. They even have classes to help creativity and sexuality, as well as prenatal yoga teacher training. Like we said, comprehensive.

Yoga House

Inside Yoga House’s chic, cozy studios, you’ll find yoga (obviously) but also a host of restorative and calming meditation sessions – making it the perfect spot to unwind from the inside out. Handily categorizing classes into ‘Classical’, ‘Contemporary’, ‘Therapeutic’, and ‘Family’, it couldn’t be easier to find the right yoga class for you. Need to clear your mind and disconnect? Try the candlelit Hatha sessions. Want to tone up, increase your endurance and flexibility? Then give Vinyasa a go. Bond with your little one in the Mommy & Baby class, or start afresh at a yoga for beginners session.

Karma Yoga

With its hanging woven chairs, sweeping views out across the marina and beyond, and Bali-inspired interiors, you won’t just love the classes at Karma Yoga, but you’ll want to move in, too. Especially once you see the three huge studios (did we mention it’s the biggest yoga studio in Dubai?) and discover the statues and art pieces collected by its’ founders.

But, aesthetics aside, you’ll also be hooked after booking in for one of the countless classes on offer. Stretch and have a little fun in the swing yoga class, end your day with candlelit flow yoga, get your sweat on it a hot yoga session, or let one of their expert healers guide you into a spiritual practice. You know where to find us.

Eco Yoga Sanctuary

There’s no better way to describe Eco Yoga Sanctuary other than, well, the ultimate sanctuary for yogis. One of the most highly regarded studios in the city, its welcoming, peaceful vibes, spa-like scent, and expert instructors are what sets it apart from the rest. Well, that and their incredible classes, international retreats, and healing sessions, of course.

Total beginners will be nurtured and cared for, while regulars to yoga can turn things upside down in the Inversion sessions. There’s even a yogalates class to help you feel the burn, hot yoga to sweat out your stress, and Hatha classes with singing bowls. It’s little wonder it’s always securing five-star reviews.

Inspire Yoga

Ever tried an aroma yoga session? Thought not. At Inspire Yoga, you can experience classes offered nowhere else in Dubai, including restorative yoga sessions where high-grade, therapeutic essential oils work with the movements to ensure the ultimate relaxation and tension release. Inside the ‘Orange Room’ you can kick up your practice by a few degrees (35-40 to be exact) for a detoxifying hot yoga class, or in the ‘Green Room’ you can hang from the ceiling in the ultimate swing session. It’s safe to say that if you’re bored with your regular practice, you won’t be after a visit here.
